Sous Chef, Pool Grill, Singapore Marriott Hotel

A young chef, with big ambitions, Chef John ventured beyond the comforts of his hometown in Penang, driven by a passion for cooking. This passion brought him to restaurants in Kuala Lumpur and now, Singapore at Singapore Marriott Hotel’s Pool Grill.

His keen interest in cooking was inspired from a young age by his talented aunt. He was encouraged to experiment with flavours and various styles of cooking. This innate understanding of how flavours and cooking style complement is evident in his creations at Pool Grill.

Chef John runs an 8-person strong kitchen team, and is responsible for Pool Grill and the 24-hour Room Service. He has to clock in odd hours, but he says nothing brings him more satisfaction than dishing out a mouthwatering late-night snack to comfort the hungry soul.

Expect nothing short of the freshest produce at Pool Grill.
